Our Teaching Philosophy
At the heart of Sur Sangat Academy is personalized, one-on-one instruction with an experienced instructor. Classes are offered for students ages 5 and up, and each learning journey is carefully tailored to the individual—accounting for age, experience level, musical background, and personal goals.
Students receive structured training in:
Hindustani classical vocal music
Musical foundations including raga, tala, and voice culture

Preparing Students for the Stage

Sur Sangat Academy follows a curriculum that
starts with the foundational patterns of the seven notes
progresses into the introduction and expansion of ragas
explores the theoretical history and impact of classical music in South Asia
incorporates traditional bhajans, garbas, ghazals, and other light music compositions
prepares you for a stage performance with vocal coaching and confidence building opportunities
equips you with practice tools to enhance tone, increase projection, and perform like pro!
